Monday Morning Motivation
Come join our new group! We are meeting on Monday mornings in the lower hall at 10:00 am for coffee, goodies, crafts (or not), and conversation. For those who craft: we will be knitting prayer shawls to donate to charitable organizations, including the Cariboo Ministry. If you would like to know more, please speak with May Loudon.
The Compass – Call for submissions
The theme of our spring issue is “New Beginnings that God has made in my life.” Deadline: March 4th. Submit to Cathy Sosnowsky (editor). Playful, serious, insightful and/or inspiring pieces of all sizes (under 500 words) are welcome!
A message from our Interim Moderator
I am happy to announce that the Presbytery of Westminster approved the call to the Rev. Heinrich Botha at the meeting last night. Heinrich accepted the call, with both humility and appreciation.
We expect that Heinrich will begin his ministry at WVPC on February 1, and are hoping that the formal service of induction will be held on Sunday March 11, in the afternoon. The date is still to be confirmed.
In the meantime, I encourage you all to pray for Heinrich, and for your church, as you prepare to welcome your new minister. As well, please give thanks to God for the guidance of the Holy Spirit throughout this process.
P.S. – Not including our representative elder, Neil Abramson, and myself, there was a delegation of 14 WVPCers in attendance, all sitting in a block. Allen Aicken was also there, sitting just behind us, in the back row, feeling proud and happy given where WVPC is now as a church.
The current edition of the Presbyterian Connection “newspaper” is available for pick up in the narthex. Please feel free to take one and see what is happening in the PCC across the country.
